Tutorial Thursday

Hi All,

So many of you ladies have been asking me to post a video about how to contour your face and what to use. I have decided to make this video to show you! Also, I had a helper during this video.


In my first blog video, I told you guys a little story about my puppy sitting by me while doing my makeup, I'm so excited because I finally caught her sitting by me so I  could brush her face. She is moving around a little bit in the video so I apologize.

In this video I am doing a smokey eye using my Naked Smokey Eye Pallet that I absolutely LOVE. I would highly recommend this pallet if you like some darker shades on your eyes. This pallet is worth a little more for your pockets however, you are paying for 12 different colors along with a brush included. I have had this same pallet for about two years because it really lasts that long. 

I will also be using Anastasia Beverly Hills contour kit to show all of you how to contour the face. I promise you, anyone can add this simple step to create a shadow or high light to enhance your beautiful features. The price on this is not bad considering there are six different colors for light or dark skinned people. 

I mainly contour my face before I leave to go out with my guy for the night or a girls night. It really just allows me to feel even more beautiful knowing that I enhanced my cheek bones and that my highlight is on point.

Tutorial Thursday

Anyone ever feel like you don't know how to style your hair for the day? You just sit in front of the mirror and go hmmm.. eh, I'll just do a messy bun because it is easy right?

My favorite recent hair style is, two half up half down messy hair buns with a French braid at the top of the hair. It is a perfect style to keep my hair out of my face all day when I am running errands or is at work.

Everyone at my job loves that I do this hairstyle because it's like space buns from the space show Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century or when Hilary Duff had her T.V show Lizzie McGuire with the two buns as well.


This hairstyle has become a very popular one for people with any length of hair. I love adding the twist of the French braid because it adds a little more to the style. Trust me, once you have done this style and show your friends they will love it on you, because it is so out of the box.

Really, this style can go with any outfit you choose that you want your hair to stand out in, because lets be honest, it is not a normal hairstyle that is done often.

Pinterest has many great ideas for any length of hair for this hair style. The second hairstyle is the same just with an inside out braid or "Dutch Braid" which is also another favorite I like to do.

Tutorial Thursday

Hi All,

I am so excited to announce to all of you that I will be starting a theme of "Tutorial Thursday" and this will allow me to show all of you my sense of makeup and hair styles. Most of the time the makeup and hair will be done on me. I realize us girls have many different hair textures and skin tones, so I have decided that I will bring in some of my amazing friends and do make up or hair on them to give a variety of different styles that can be done.

I know what most or all of you are thinking.. Makeup is expensive. Trust me I understand the struggle, I intend to use mostly brands that are affordable that you can get at a Walmart, CVS, or Walgreens.

Today the feature that I will be focusing on is my eyes. I love to make my eyes dramatic when going out for the night. So, this video will show you how to do a brown smokey eye with the Naked Eye Pallet.

Own Your Outfit

Standing in front of the closet trying to figure out what outfit to wear. Looking at some colored shirts and eyeball a jean jacket to go along with some coral colored skinny capris. You know you want to wear something cute because why not.

Hmm.. I'll help you. Totally go with the black V-neck short sleeve shirt sitting in front of you ;)

When going out for the afternoon it is so important for girls to be able to feel comfortable and bright. Wearing a colored pant in the spring/ summer time is a good way to make your day happier. When looking at your outfit in the mirror a girl can think, "oohhh I look so damn good today".

Own your outfit. What is there to complain about when you are feeling good about the day, unless you are like me and spill a few drops of coffee on your shirt or.. even worse.. the pants. 

.... all I can say is, make sure you are extra cautious with the pants that day.

Be sure to layer properly for the day. If you ladies know it will be cold in the room, that's why you have the jean jacket to help out. If it were to get warm in the room later, you have the leisure to take the jacket off and still have a cute and appropriate outfit for the rest of the day.

Feeling good about the outfit of the day is what will make your day a good day.

Just a Girl Living

Trendy Fashion is a must for most of us girls. We all have been guilty of searching on Pinterest for a better sense of what trendy style to try next, or looking up ideas for hair and make up tutorials. This blog is a way to showcase current trends in fresh, inspiring ways.

From a young age I have always been about the style for hair, makeup and outfit. In high school and even now, I always have friends asking if a shirt that they are wearing matches the bottoms they have on, I always give honest feedback because fashion is something that inspires me.

Being able to feel comfortable with picking out a certain outfit for the weather is what makes me feel confident in to having a good day. Living in Indiana there are many ways of trying to dress appropriately for the weather. I mean come on.. 60 degrees in the middle of February is not a common occurrence, so it can completely change the wardrobe style.

Wearing a comfy sweater with skinny jeans and adding Converse shoes is one of my favorite outfits to wear when going out for a coffee with a friend. My hair is to my shoulders, so I always love to style of working with braids or a half up half down messy bun with this kind of outfit choice. I am so excited to share my love for fashion with everyone!
